How to Add a Website Shortcut to Your iPhone

Q. When is an App not an App? A. When it’s a website shortcut.

Accessing your favourite websites quickly and easily from your iPhone home screen is easy, even without a dedicated App. Here’s how you can create a website shortcut with Safari 12, the default browser on your iPhone.

  1. Launch Safari 12 and go to the website you want to add to your home screen.
  2. Tap the Share icon (the rectangle with an upward arrow) at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Swipe up and find the option “Add to Home Screen”. Tap it.
  4. A pop-up will appear where you can customize the name and icon of your website shortcut. Enter a name that describes the website and choose an icon that suits it.
  5. Tap “Add” in the top-right corner of the pop-up.

Your website shortcut will appear on your home screen. To use it, just tap it like any other app. Safari 12 will open and load the website for you.

That’s it! You can create as many website shortcuts as you want with Safari 12 and enjoy faster and easier web browsing on your iPhone. We’d suggest you do it with our website as your first attempt! 😁
